About this site and how to contact us.
This project started as a bit of fun, maybe a picture a day to tide me over during the lockdown and to provide a virtual walk in the countryside for those of my friends and relatives less able to get out and about. What has been interesting is just how much can be found in the small area around our home. We live in isolation of a sort anyway. This part of Shropshire is one of the least populated parts of England. It lies between the Wrekin and the River. The Wrekin being the distinctive hill that dominates the skyline and the River is the Severn. As such we are described as living "Under the Wrekin". A short distance away is Wroxeter, once Roman Viroconium, the fourth largest city in Britain. Now it is a village with little to show of its past glory. We have stuck to the guidelines, one walk a day and have seen few people, some cyclists, dog walkers and few cars or vans. It is very quiet. But somehow it's been more than a picture a day. The owls, pheasants and deer have all made their appearances and the pictures just fall into my lap. I was greeted the other day by someone I had never met before who said "you must be the owl man...", fame indeed. To conclude, I hope you like the site. If we were walking together it's the things that we might point out to each other. "Look at that view"," look, a deer!" or "watch out angry sheep!" We can't walk together, but in the meantime here's the next best thing, stay safe. Trevor and Christine, Spring 2020
